Dan will bring everything he needs to provide an educational, fun, memorable and exciting program. One of Dan’s popular educational assembly programs is his “Reading Is GRAND” program. With juggling, fun, and a stack of books to share, Dan will leave an impression on your students that will last long after the program is over. They’ll talk about it for weeks, giving the teachers opportunities to celebrate reading in the classroom.

Dan’s “Reading Is GRAND” program is geared toward Kindergartner through Fifth Grade students. Programs are typically 45 to 50 minutes long. What happens in a typical “Reading Is GRAND” program?:
Yo Yo tricks as students are getting seating
After an introduction, which Dan will provide, Dan will go over the assembly rules.
Many students think that all adults can read. Dan will explain that reading like juggling is a skill that requires practice.
Dan will execute juggling tricks with trick names from a book.
Dan will juggle up to 7 balls.
Dan will read and juggle at the same time.
Juggling and related skills when practiced regularly can improve reading, focus, and concentration. Dan will have a small group join him on stage to balance feathers. Balancing objects is a great way to improve focus and concentration which aids in reading tracking skills.
Dan will share a bunch of books that he has brought to the program including a book with short story by Dan Kirk The Juggler.
Dan even has a special book that will really get children “fired” up about reading.
Dan like to end his “Reading Is GRAND” program by juggling while riding a unicycle.

Dan lives in Menasha, WI and will travel the Midwest and beyond to present to your students. Dan would love to visit you. Check out his website: www.DanKirk.com. Send an email: juggler@dankirk.com for questions.
